Each year, South Church joyfully takes part in Operation Christmas Child, a global outreach ministry through Samaritan’s Purse that delivers gift-filled shoeboxes—and the Gospel—to children around the world. These shoeboxes, packed with toys, hygiene items, school supplies, and prayer, serve as tangible expressions of God’s love and open doors for children and their families to hear about Jesus.
Stephanie Gibson leads this ministry for our church with incredible passion and organization. Throughout the year, we collect specific items each month to prepare for our big packing party in November. During this event, our church family gathers to fill hundreds of boxes, and most importantly, to pray over each one—asking God to use them to change lives for eternity.
There are many ways to get involved. You can donate items throughout the year, give a monetary donation and our team will shop for you, or help cover the shipping costs required for each box. However you choose to take part, you’ll be joining a global mission that brings hope, joy, and the love of Christ to children in need.
